Information Design's offices are located in an historic building overlooking the C&O Canal in Georgetown. The National Park Service offers canal rides from Lock No. 4 just outside our front door.
Thomas Jefferson Street is a popular address for architectural and publishing firms. Some of Washington's leading architects are our neighbors, and US News & World Report is just down the street.
Our building was constructed in 1830 as a Masonic Lodge. Over the past 175 years it as served many roles ... as a bank, a grocery store, an architectural firm, a publishing house, and the home of cartoonist Pat Oliphant's retail store. It was renovated by noted architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen.
